4 quickie filmreviews: sin city, mr. & ms. smith, batman begins, war of the worlds

for the past 3 weeks, i’ve watched the 4 most anticipated film for the summer of 2005 in the US.

sin city:

this gotta be the latest film in b/w that i’ve watched since schindler’s list. if you’re a comic geek like me, this is gotta be the best film this summer 2005. but like most people, too much gore maybe not their cup of tea.

rating: * * * *

mr. and ms. smith:

forget the lousy plot. forget the lousy ending. forget everything you seen in this movie, but NEVER FORGET ANGELINA JOLIE. WE WORSHIP YOU!!! :D

rating: * *

batman begins:

almost perfect… except for 3 things: katie holmes, scarecrow, and batman’s voice. is it only me who noticed it because the whole time i was watching the film, batman sounded like the late FPJ. damn.

rating: * * * *

war of the worlds:

three words: THIS FILM SUCKS. i would rather watch a rerun of independence day than watching this damn forsaken crap. damn you spielberg! damn you tom cruise! dapat kayo nalang yung navaporied ng mga aliens. damn. :D

update on GLORIAGATE SCANDAL: OUST GLORIA

on june 30, 2005, thursday, there will be a mobilization to oust president gloria macapagal-arroyo at welcome rotonda in quezon city. party starts at 4 pm.

some reminders for newbies in rallies:

1. please be on your sports attire for running may be necessary (during dispersion).

2. bring extra shirt. baka maligo ka ng wala sa oras.

3. bring also something to cover your face (in case those damn riot police uses teargas).

4. magdala rin ng mga placards (these would come in handy kapag nagkabatuhan, pangsangga rin kapag binatuta ka na ng mga hinayupak na pulis). magdala rin ng mga kaserola at iba pang mga bagay na pampainggay (these would also come in handy, para meron kang pambato sa mga pulis). BAWAL MAGDALA NG MOLOTOV COCKTAIL. :D

Kmkita kits nalang sa rotonda. MGA RASTAKISTA, MAKIBAKA!!! :D

ON TO ARMS: GMA ADMITS VOICE ON WIRETAP

Gmaafter weeks of silence, GMA finally broke her silence. Read below her official statement.

* * * * *

Mga Minamahal kong Kababayan,

For the last several weeks, the issue of the tape recordings has spun out of control. Tonight, I want to set the record straight. You deserve an explanation; from me, because you are the people I was elected to serve.

As you recall, the election canvassing process was unnecessarily slow even after the election results were already in and the votes had been counted.

I was anxious to protect my votes and during that time had conversations with many people, including a Comelec official. My intent was not to influence the outcome of the election, and it did not. As I mentioned, the election had already been decided and the votes counted. And as you remember, the outcome had been predicted by every major public opinion poll, and adjudged free, fair and decisive by international election observers, and our own Namfrel.

said, let me tell you how I personally feel, I recognize that making any such call was a lapse in judgment. I’m sorry. I also regret taking so long to speak before you on this matter. I take full responsibility for my actions and to you and to all those good citizens who may have had their faith shaken by these events. I want to assure you that I have redoubled my efforts to serve the nation and earn your trust.

I took office with a mandate to carry out a plan for the nation. Since that time, I have focused on making the tough but necessary decisions to make up for years of economic neglect. We passed a comprehensive fiscally responsible national budget; raised new and necessary revenues to reinvest in the people; and implemented new anti-corruption measures that have led to the highest collection of taxes in history.

Nothing should stand in the way of this work, or the next phase of my reform agenda, which includes new investments in education and social services with our new revenues; and an expansion of our successful anti-corruption and lifestyle checks.

That is why I want to close this chapter and move on with the business of governing.

I ask each and every one of you to join hands with me in a show of unity, to help forge One Philippines, where everyone is equal under the law, and where everyone has the opportunity to use their God-given talents to make a better life.

Our nation is strong and getting stronger. The progress is steady and I ask you to walk with me on this journey to rebuild our great nation. I remain your humble servant and promise you that I will fulfill my constitutional oath of office to serve the people to the best of my ability.

God Bless the Philippines.

post fete de la musique: somehow disappointing

before going to the annual fete de la musique, i was having a bad omen regarding the event. siguro because the podium isn’t a familiar territory to me and it also brings out sad memories.

but after having a short chat with my boss gv, asking me why i didn’t show up at work for the past 2 days and with gorgeous jasmine, talking bowt school stuff and rumors ’bout the board exam results, i contacted two friends, whom both identities i wont revealed coz both of them didn’t informed their respective girlfriends that they were going, and we finally decided to go to podium.

i’m not really sure whether we arrived at around 10 or 11 pm. basta inabutan ko pa yung hale and some bands. we didn’t bothered to stay at the reggae stage kasi wala naman yung brownman revival. so tambay nalang kami sa alternative stage. sayang nga kasi si cindy kurleto yung host dun sa reggae stage. damn.

yung sa alternative stage ok lang. aside from hale, inabutan ko rin yung mojofly. lougee is sooo hot! :D

we even notice some commotion along the rock stage. dami kasi jologs. hehe. this is why i don’t stay long in big events like this, nasisira lang ang gabi mo dahil sa mga taong retarted.

so my bad omen did came true after all. and to make matters worse, UMULAN PA! damn! damn! damn!

at around 1 or 2 am, umuwi na kami. di na ako umabot sa mayonnaise. damn!

next year ulit. at sana sa eastwood nalang ulit, para walang mga retarted na jologs :D
